Modelling para-urbanisation: The case study from Prehistoric Ukraine
The study is supported by the interpretation of geo-referenced geomagnetic plans of the sites comprising sometimes hundreds of hectares and thousands of houses in their actual landscape. The models of early urban space are often sought in neo-classical economics. The notion of para-urbanisation forces us to shift our attention to modelling social relations and economic processes in prehistoric society re-enforcing a substantivistic approach to past economies.
