    Images and their interpretative potential: A case study (non-urban cultures of the North Pontic region from the 3rd c. BC to the 3rd c. AD)
    Any image contains three main sources of information: medium (the object carrying an image), style, and content. The appearance of new images and the disappearance of old ones may indicate changes in society under internal and/or external impact, especially in the ideological and political spheres. The case study is based on images from the burial assemblages of the ‘barbarian’ elite from the Northern Black Sea region
