Hidden social connections and glass production: Glass as an Indicator of Relationships in the Northern Black Sea Region in the VIth – Ist centuries BCE
The talk will have a dual focus: it reflects the author’s research on the production and distribution of glass beads in the Archaic Period, as well as the study of imported core-formed glass vessels. Both lines of argument are linked by a notion of social interactions behind emerging spatial patterns. The combined research reveals new aspects of the life of the ancient Greeks on the North Black Sea coast and their connections with the indigenous population and the Mediterranean basin.
